Angelissa Panganiban is the new research librarian for biological sciences for the UC Irvine Libraries and is based in the Reference department. In addition to handling collections for the School of Biological Sciences, Angelissa offers instruction, outreach, and research consultations for the school’s students and faculty. She may also provide reference consultations and instruction for the College of Health Sciences and is the Libraries’ liaison to the Campuswide Honors Collegium.

Tiffany Esteban is the new digital scholarship librarian for the Digital Scholarship Services (DSS) department. Strengthening knowledge of digital research in multiple fields, she offers instruction and research assistance. As part of her role, Tiffany supports the use of digital technologies, research methods, and instruments in research, teaching, and scholarly publishing. Informed about digital scholarship standards, trends, and technologies, she also offers workshops, meetings, and tutorials and is available to work directly with researchers.
The UC Irvine Libraries have received a $3 million gift to establish an endowment that will support the highest priorities of the university librarian. The gift, which will remain anonymous at the request of the donors, will help the Libraries meet the evolving needs of students, faculty, and other library users in the digital age.
