Celebrating Disability Pride Month

This July, UC Irvine Libraries are excited to celebrate Disability Pride Month by calling attention to all the resources that document and elevate the voices and contributions of people with disabilities.* This guide highlights select resources available through the Libraries that focus on disability justice, lived experiences, and the creative and intellectual work of the community. Unless they specify a UC Irvine login, the materials listed below are available to the public year-round, at no cost.

Summer Library Resources

Did you know that you can still enjoy the Libraries’ resources over the summer? UC Irvine affiliates (students, staff, and faculty), both on and off campus, can attend workshops, unwind with free entertainment options, and access research help, to name just a few.

Meet the Curator: Behind the Scenes of the From Imagination to Reality Exhibit

For centuries, works of imaginative fiction have not only reflected the technological possibilities of their time, but also predicted and even directly influenced later innovations. The Science Library exhibit From Imagination to Reality brings this idea to life by pairing books with the realized innovations they foretold. The resulting exhibit takes viewers on a journey through time, highlighting the historical roots of “new” technology.

Celebrating Pride Month

UC Irvine Libraries invite you to celebrate Pride Month with the help of our resources. You can learn about key LGBTQ+ milestones and figures at UC Irvine, in Orange County, and beyond through our research guides and archival collections that document political, social, and cultural movements throughout the 20th and 21st century. You can also enjoy recently released books, films, and art that honor the community.

Unless they specify a UC Irvine login, these materials are available to the public year-round, at no cost.

2026 Southeast Asian Archive Anne Frank Visiting Researcher Awardee Announced

The Southeast Asian Archive (SEAA) Anne Frank Visiting Researcher Award, named in honor of archive’s founding curator Anne Frank, is given annually to a researcher not currently affiliated with UC Irvine and living outside of Orange County. The $1,000 award is intended to defray the cost of traveling to Irvine to conduct hands-on research within the archive.

Celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month

To document and celebrate the works of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders, UC Irvine Libraries continue to grow our resources about AANHPI communities and their cultural contributions. From our broad-ranging Southeast Asian Archive to a wide variety of digital resources, scholarly texts, and creative works, our collections let users explore the experiences that shape AANHPI identities.

Celebrating Jewish American Heritage Month

To celebrate Jewish American Heritage Month, UC Irvine Libraries have gathered a partial list of available resources, media (both fiction and nonfiction), and books within the Libraries that help document and honor the works of Jewish Americans.

Although some materials are only accessible to faculty, staff, and students with a valid UCInetID, many of these resources are open to the public and all are available throughout the year as part of UC Irvine Libraries’ ongoing effort to foster learning and increase access to a wide variety of scholarship.
