In February 2018, the HathiTrust digitized its 15 millionth volume, Le parfait courtisan du Comte Baltasar Castillonois, es deux langues, respondans par deux colomnes, l'une à l'autre, pour ceux qui veulent avoir l'intelligence de l'une d'icelles. De la traduction de Gabriel Chapuis Tourangeau. This edition of The Book of the Courtier, as it is known in English, is a 1585 printing that features a French translation in a column opposite the original Italian. The volume was selected for digitization from the UCI Libraries Special Collections. Written as a series of dialogues, this book offered noblemen a guide to proper conduct at the royal court. It was widely read across the continent after its original publication in 1528. The physical volume has been returned to the UC Irvine Libraries Special Collections.
