Accessibility Features in Library Databases
UC Irvine Libraries provides access to millions of digital resources in many different formats. Many of the available online resources offer built-in accessibility features.
This training video walks you through the accessibility features in an example online library resource, EBSCO.
For assistance with EBSCO or other online library resources, visit our lib.uci.edu to book an appointment or contact us via email, chat, or phone.
Other Assistive Technology in UC Irvine Libraries
Morphic, an assistive technology (AT) tool that helps individuals easily find and use a PC’s built-in accessibility features, is available on all UC Irvine Libraries public computers. The toolbar caters to individuals’ changing needs by highlighting accommodation utilities that many users may be unaware of. Library patrons can access Morphic conveniently and discreetly on all desktop computers in Langson Library, Science Library, and the Grunigen Medical Library (GML) on the UCI Medical Campus in Orange. To learn more about the Morphic toolbar, see the Libraries’ Morphic Guide.
In addition to the Morphic toolbar, other AT software and equipment are available on a limited number of desktops in the Libraries. The Langson Library, Science Library, and GML each have a fully equipped workstation, including large monitors, scanners, magnifiers, adjustable electric table, and screen reading software.
Visit the Libraries’ Accessibility Services and Resources webpage for the exact location of each workstation and a full list of library services available.
